I spend my days working with members, advocates, and community leaders to educate and promote Passport Health Plan.
What do you love about working with our members/advocates?
I love being able to play a role in helping to improve the quality of life of Kentuckians. In communities that are often overlooked, it is a blessing to be able to connect them to resources, provide assistance and pour encouragement and positivity into their lives. I love being a “face” to those we serve.
What is one of your favorite memories of working with our community?
I have so many memories of working with the community. Most recently, I was able to reunite with a member at an event that I had previously met at a member education session. She was so thrilled that I remembered her and loved giving me updates on her health, her family and a quick overview of some of her goals. It is always a pleasure when I have the opportunity to reconnect with members and shower them with Passport love!
Why do you think your work is important?
My role is important because often times people will need a “bridge” to help them connect the pieces. I frequently work as a trouble shooter around member issues, I work with advocates on ensuring they have updates and information regarding the plan and I also help members and advocates eliminate barriers to care. In my role, I am able to be provide hands on support and assistance to the communities that we serve which regularly results in reduced stress and frustration.
What do you love about the community you serve?
The people. They are incredibly awesome and I am thankful for our Passport village.
