Passport Health Plan Not Selected for Kentucky Medicaid Managed Care Contract; Plans to Protest Decision

Passport Health Plan has been notified by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services that it has not been awarded a new Medicaid managed care contract for the period commencing on January 1st, 2021.  Passport will protest the decision in an effort to protect the health and well-being of the more than 300,000 Medicaid members who have relied on Passport for their healthcare and urgent care needs as well as for extensive support during the recent coronavirus pandemic.

Passport Health Plan Not Initially Selected for Kentucky Medicaid Managed Care Contract

Passport Health Plan has been notified by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) that Passport has not been awarded a Kentucky Medicaid managed care contract for the next contract period. Passport will continue to provide services to its Medicaid membership throughout the existing contract term, expiring June 30, 2020, with no changes to member benefits during that time period.

Passport Postpones Motion for Injunctive Relief in Franklin Circuit Court

Passport Health Plan has postponed a motion for injunctive relief filed last month in Franklin County Circuit Court after undertaking a series of severe cost-cutting measures to keep the plan afloat while it continues to look to the court for a long-term resolution. A hearing on the injunction motion that was scheduled for next Tuesday, March 5, has been cancelled.

Passport to Halt Construction on West Louisville HQ

Passport Health Plan is delaying construction on its new headquarters building at 18th and Broadway while the organization attempts to resolve a dispute with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services. Passport is seeking immediate relief from a reduction in reimbursement rates that disproportionately impacts Medicaid beneficiaries in the Louisville area – where the majority of Passport’s members reside.
